PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – A man accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal two-car crash in July pleaded not guilty in Peoria County Court on Thursday morning.
Shamarr Greenlee, 36, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
On July 23, Peoria Police said they pulled over a car driven by Greenlee about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, and he drove off at a high rate of speed. About a minute later, police said that same vehicle crashed into another car in Peoria’s East Bluff, killing a passenger, 17-year-old Isis Horn. The driver of that car suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Greenlee returns to court for a scheduling conference on Oct. 29. His trial is scheduled for Nov. 9.
