BOGOTA, Sept 27 (Reuters) – PepsiCo will invest $1 billion in Colombia over the next five years, the South American nation’s President Abelardo De La Espriella said on Sunday.
• The investments will be aimed at expanding production, modernizing operations and strengthening distribution in the country, the president added.
• “Confidence is demonstrated through investment. This commitment will boost employment, support more than 2,000 farmers and strengthen Colombia’s small shopkeepers,” De La Espriella wrote on X.
• The announcement follows a weeklong visit to New York by Colombian Vice President José Manuel Restrepo and the country’s economic team, during which they met with more than 100 corporate and capital markets investors.
