MORTON, Ill. (25 News) – Springfield Clinic broke ground Tuesday on a new, multi-million-dollar facility in Morton.
The groundbreaking was for a 21,000-square-foot building on South Detroit Avenue.
The 36-exam-room facility will bring pediatrics, family medicine and specialty care all under one roof.
Clinic leaders said the expansion is needed to keep up with population growth in the Morton area.
“We’ve needed space for our clinic. We’ve been growing rapidly, and so we’re just looking for that new facility, that new space… this building will give us the space and the facilities we need to continue to provide exceptional care,” said Dr. Shad Beaty, a Springfield Clinic pediatrician.
The expansion will increase the clinic’s pediatric capacity from six exam rooms to 12.
The new facility is set to open in the summer of 2027.
The new clinic will also feature on-site X-ray and laboratory services. Once completed, it will reach patients across 20 central Illinois counties.
