PEORIA, Ill. – A member of the Peoria City Council is taking some time away from his duties.
In a statement on Tuesday, 5th District Councilman Denis Cyr announced that he is taking a temporary leave of absence through the end of September.
Cyr says while he regrets leaving his responsibilities, the leave will help him recover from a recent medical procedure. Due to the recovery, Cyr says he is unable to respond to phone calls, emails, or any other inquiry.
Cyr says 5th District residents can still have their concerns, questions, and requests heard by contacting At-Large Councilmen Zach Oyler, John Kelly, and Kiran Velpula.
