PEORIA, Ill. – An arrest has been made in connection to a family being shot at Monday night at Glen Oak Park.
Peoria Police says 20-year-old Harlem Porter was arrested in connection to the incident. He is charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Fraudulent Identification Card, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Leaving the Scene, and Reckless Driving.
The incident occurred just before 6:15 P.M. Police responded to the scene to find a large crowd fleeing the area, along with numerous vehicles attempting to leave the park.
One of the vehicles was found by police crashed within the park, with officers learning that at least two male suspects fled from the vehicle on foot. Police reportedly also spotted a handgun with an extended magazine inside the vehicle.
Porter was found a short time later by police and taken into custody, where he was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
