PEORIA, Ill. – The construction season will start to ramp up in central Illinois this week.
Starting on Monday, the ramp from northbound Route 6 to Knoxville will be closed until mid-June for work on the Knoxville overpass. A detour will be posted.
Also on Monday, SW Washington Street in Peoria will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Persimmon and Walnut for sidewalk improvements.
Hurlburt will be closed to through traffic starting Monday on the west side of the MacArthur Highway intersection as part of a reconstruction project, and will last about six weeks.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Jefferson just west of Main Street will be closed in the morning and afternoon for building demolition work.
