PEORIA, Ill. – Due to forecasted wind chill values of –17 and ongoing concerns for student safety—particularly for those who walk to school and must navigate sidewalks in many areas—there will be no school at Peoria Public Schools District 150 on Monday, January 26th.
The district says although temperatures have slightly improved, conditions remain unsafe, and significantly low student attendance is anticipated. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure equitable and safe access for all students, PPS has made the decision to cancel school for the day.
Please note: This day will be made up at a later date.
Though all PPS schools will be closed on Monday, the District 150 School Board meeting scheduled for Monday night will be held.
