PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been arrested after allegedly committing an armed robbery to a Peoria gas station on Monday.
Peoria Police says officers responded just before 7:15 A.M. to the Marathon on Forrest Hill, where an employee told them a masked male entered the business, allegedly armed with a shotgun and demanding money.
Police say the suspect left the area with an undisclosed amount of cash before police arrived.
48-year-old Robert L. Trader Jr. was identified as the alleged suspect after officers used a license plate reader to locate the reported vehicle used in the robbery, which was found in the area of Elizabeth and Farrow in Peoria County.
Peoria Police says Trader Jr. was taken into custody from a residence in the area without incident. A shotgun was allegedly recovered after a search of the suspected vehicle.
Trader Jr. was arrested for Armed Robbery and an active warrant, and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
