PEORIA, Ill. – A woman was injured after a shooting early Sunday morning in South Peoria.
Peoria Police says seven shots were fired in the area of Charlton and McBean just after 1:15 A.M., but did not find a victim.
Police say officers were informed a short time later of a 26-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the leg arriving at a hospital via private vehicle. Her injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
The victim was reportedly shot while inside a vehicle at the intersection of Brotherson and Charlton.
There are no suspects and the shooting is under investigation.
