Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the victim has 33-year-old Robert Gilliam, Jr.
He was pronounced brain dead shortly before 2 on Tuesday at OSF St. Francis.
An autopsy was pending.

PEORIA, Ill. — An adult male was in a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after a Monday night shooting in Central Peoria.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said police were called just after 9:30 to the 2700 block of N. Knoxville Avenue.
“Peoria Police received two separate ShotSpotter alerts, one in the 2800 block and one in the 2900 block of N. Knoxville. ShotSpotter alert indicating eight shots fired,” Dotson said.
The Emergency Communications Center also received a call saying a yellow car went off the road following the gunshots.
Police found the car in the parking lot of a business, with a man inside.
“The occupant did suffer an apparent gunshot wound,” Dotson said.
Lifesaving procedures were given to the man at the scene, and then he was taken to a hospital.
Both lanes of Knoxville were closed immediately after the incident, while police investigated.
The Emergency Communications Center said the shooting happened at 2915 Knoxville, a residence.
The incident remains under investigation.
Police have no suspects at this time.
