SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported 3,113 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 22 additional deaths.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate from Oct. 12 – 18 is at 5.4%. The seven-day positivity rate continues to rise as of recently, as it sat at 5.1% on Friday.
Within the past 24 hours, 48,684 specimens have been reported for a total of 6,824,237 since testing began.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 347,161 cases, including 9,236 deaths.
As of Sunday night, 2,096 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 485 patients were in the ICU and 179 were on ventilators.
