FARMINGTON, Ill. — Farmington Central Jr. High and Elementary schools will begin remote learning this week after a positive COVID-19 case.
The district’s website said on Sunday that a staff member who teaches at both the Jr. High and Elementary levels has tested positive for the virus.
Farmington Central will be working with local health departments for contact tracing to see which students were in direct contact.
School officials said with the amount of students impacted, this will take a few days to coordinate.
Students will return no sooner than Monday October 26.
If a student was in direct contact, their guardians will receive additional communication in the next few days.
Teachers will send out more information and assignments to students through email and Google Classroom.
Elementary student devices can be picked up on Monday, October 19 beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continue until 5:30 p.m.
