PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded to the 4300 block of W. Castleton Rd. just after 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening on reports of a female with a gunshot wound.
When they arrived, they found the female with a gunshot wound in her back. She was immediately taken to the hospital with injuries that are considered to be serious.
According to WMBD-TV, the father of the victim says her boyfriend came over with a loaded gun. She slipped on the gun, according to her father, and accidentally set it off.
This incident remains under investigation.
