SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois has a new high for COVID-19 cases recorded over a 24-hour period.
Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,015 people between Wednesday and Thursday tested positive.
67,000 tests were administered during that time, while 53 deaths were recorded.
The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate hit 4.9%.
1,932 hospital beds as of Wednesday night were occupied throughout Illinois by people with the virus or with possible cases of it. 388 were in intensive care, and 147 were on ventilators.
