PEORIA, Ill. — The death of a Peoria County woman in her 80s highlighted Wednesday’s COVID-19 report from the Peoria City/County Health Department.
The woman lived at Generations at Peoria. The health department did not report whether she had comorbidities.
Her death brought Peoria’s total COVID-related death count to 52. The tri-county total increased to 105, as Tazewell stayed at 44 and Woodford remained at 9.
103 area residents during the Tuesday-Wednesday reporting period received positive test results.
Peoria and Tazewell recorded 49 new cases apiece, while Woodford added five active cases to its count.
The Tuesday spike in hospitalizations, which saw 85 residents in tri-county hospital beds, dipped significantly on Wednesday, to 59. Of those, 20 were intensive care level.
Recovery rate for the area sat slightly above 85%.
