SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — With 29 newly reported deaths, the state of Illinois as of Tuesday has had 9,026 fatalities related to COVID-19.
Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,851 new cases of the virus, as well.
55,993 people between Monday and Tuesday were tested for the virus, as the state’s seven-day rolling positivity rate remained 4.5%.
1,848 people throughout the state were in hospital beds because of cases of COVID or suspected cases of the virus. 406 were in intensive care, and 160 were using ventilators.
