PEORIA, Ill. — Two elderly Tazewell County residents passed away between Tuesday and Wednesday from complications related to the coronavirus.
The Peoria City/County Health Department said one was a female in her 80s who didn’t live in long-term care.
The other was a male in his 80s who lived at Villas of Hollybrook in Pekin, which has experienced something of an outbreak in recent weeks.
Tazewell County’s death total increased to 35. Along with Peoria and Woodford Counties, the tri-county total rose to 91.
49 tests came back positive during the reporting period.
Tazewell had the highest count, with 30. Peoria accounted for 14, while Woodford notched the remaining five.
The area’s recovery rate jumped up to 82.8%.
60 people as of Wednesday afternoon were in area hospitals with the virus or suspected cases of it.
