PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department reported 45 area residents between Monday and Tuesday received positive COVID-19 test results.
That number was a significant departure from last week’s daily average of 61.
Tazewell County accounted for the highest amount of new cases: 25. Peoria County had 19 cases, while Woodford reported one.
There were no new deaths to report.
The area’s recovery rate fell marginally, to 81.2%.
62 active cases as of Tuesday afternoon were in local hospitals with the virus or with potential cases thereof.
22 of the actively hospitalized cases were intensive care-level.
