PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded to reports of shots fired at Taft Homes just after 1 p.m. Monday.
Officers located an adult male victim who’d been shot in the arm.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said initial information gathered at the scene indicated the male was inside the vehicle when he was shot.
“The vehicle then crashed into a fence. The victim exited the vehicle and ran a short distance,” Dotson said.
The victim’s injuries were said to be serious, but were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police have no suspects.
The incident remains under investigation.
