PEORIA, Ill. — A pair of Tazewell County residents passed away over the weekend from complications related to coronavirus.
The Peoria City/County Health Department on Monday reported a female in her 60s and male in his 80s, both residents of an unspecified long-term care facility, were unable to defeat the virus.
Tazewell’s total of deaths from COVID since the start of the pandemic reached 33.
Tazewell, Peoria, and Woodford have combined for 89 such deaths.
175 new cases in total were reported throughout the tri-county.
Peoria positives totaled 103, Tazewell reported 58, and Woodford recorded 14.
60 people were in area hospitals with the virus or suspected cases of it. 20 of them were in intensive care.
The recovery rate rose to 81.4%.
