PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman admits to lying about gun purchases made for her partner.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Keena Faunterloy, 28, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a single count of Making False Statements, and will be sentenced September 8.
Prosecutors say Faunterloy purchased ten guns between January, 2019 and January, 2021 as part of what’s called a “straw-purchasing” scheme — some of which were later located on the street.
Some of the guns Jamarco Moore, 32 — a convicted felon — allegedly ordered a minor female to get rid of while police were interviewing him in March of last year at his home.
Mootr was sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison last month in connection with this case.
Faunterloy could receive up to ten years in prison at sentencing.
