PEORIA, Ill. — In addition to 107 new local COVID-19 cases, one virus-related death also occurred during the Tuesday-Wednesday reporting period.
The life of a Tazewell County man in his 70s, who was not a long-term care facility resident, was taken, bringing the county’s total deaths related to COVID to 23. The area’s total rose to 73.
54 of the new cases were attributed to Peoria County. Tazewell had 49, and Woodford accounted for the remaining four.
The area’s recovery rate continued its upward trajectory, rising to 81.5%.
57 people were in area hospitals with the virus. 19 of them were in intensive care.
