SPRINGFIELD, Ill — The preliminary seven-day positivity rate in Illinois continues to head in the right direction.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported Monday that the rate currently sits at 3.5%, which is down from 3.6% on Friday.
IDPH Monday reported 1,477 new cases of COVID-19, including 7 additional deaths.
In the last 24 hours, laboratories have reported 38,234 specimens for a total of 5,143,387 since the pandemic began.
As of Sunday night, 1,436 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 364 patients were in the ICU and 153 were on ventilators.
