SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The newest Illinois highway map is available now.
While most of us use our smartphones for directions, paper maps can still be a good resource on the road, according to State Department of Transportation Spokesperson Paul Wappel.
“If anybody wants one, all they need to do is request one. Contact I-DOT by emailing DOT.maps@illinois.gov,” Wappel said.
The new map will soon be available at interstate rest stops across Illinois and at I-DOT facilities.
The map includes Q-R codes you can scan with your phone to get information about travel conditions, Amtrak, state parks and more.
“They’ll provide easy access to the information on I-DOT’s Getting Around Illinois website, which has travel conditions 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Wappel said.
