PEORIA, Ill. — The former Midstate College campus on Northmoor in Peoria will soon be home to the Blood and Clotting Disorders Institute.
BCDI is recognized as one of the top hemophilia treatment centers in the nation. And, it’s only one in Illinois outside of Chicago.
BCDI’s work is known not just nationally, but globally.
“Moving to this facility is really remarkable for our community, and what it means for helping children and families with bleeding and clotting disorders,” said 18th District Congressman Darin LaHood.
Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis said BCDI’s move from Lindbergh Drive will be a boost for the area of Knoxville and Northmoor.
“I just can’t say enough about how much this is going to do to stabilize this area of the community, but also to continue putting us on the trajectory of being an outstanding healthcare community in the Midwest,” Ardis said.
CEO and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Michael Tarantino, said BCDI’s mission has always been to serve the bleeding and clotting disorders community.
“BCDI is truly a family of dedicated people that come to work everyday with the mission and the forefront in their minds of helping the bleeding and clotting disorders community and our patients,” Tarantino said.
Construction on Northmoor will double BCDI’s size. A ribbon cutting is tentatively set for next summer.
