PEORIA, Ill. — The local death toll due to COVID-19 is now at 56 after a female in her 90’s has died. The woman was a resident of a long-term care facility, Apostolic Christian Skyline.
The woman is Peoria County’s 39th confirmed death due to COVID-19.
The Peoria City/County Health Department also reported a total of 73 new cases Thursday across the tri-county area.
Peoria County has a total of 46 new cases, Tazewell has 22, and Woodford has five. The total number of cases now stands at 4,422.
The recovered rate grew slightly in the last 24 hours and is now up to 73.7%. In addition, the hospitalized rate grew as well but still remains under 1% at .7%.
The number of patients in area hospitals fell by 13 in the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, 57 patients were in area hospitals with COVID-19, and that number Thursday stands at 44.
Of the 44 in the hospital, 13 are in the ICU.
