PEORIA, Ill. — The tri-county recovery rate from COVID-19 continued its recent precipitous climb upwards, according to the Friday report from the Peoria City/County Health Department.
After being in the mid-60s just one week ago, the department said Friday it was just below 74%.
As a result, the home isolation result continued trending downwards, at just about 23%.
The department reported 56 new cases: 26 for Peoria County, 22 for Tazewell, and an unusually high eight for Woodford.
If there was one discouraging trend on the report, it was the hospitalizations, as 61 area residents with the virus were in hospitals, up significantly from Thursday’s 45.
15 of the currently hospitalized cases were in intensive care.
