PEORIA, Ill. — We don’t need the storms, but we do need rain.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins predicts scattered thunderstorms will push through the Peoria metro area between 8-10 p.m. Friday.
“Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats. The tornado threat is low,” Collins said.
Collins adds, “We’re over two inches behind in rain for the month and we’ve seen less than an inch of rain over the past 37 days.”
Behind the front is cooler and drier air for the weekend with highs around 80.
