PEORIA, Ill. — Police arrested a juvenile with a Peoria County warrant Saturday afternoon.
According to a release, Peoria police officers with the Special Investigations Division found the juvenile while out on patrol around 5 p.m. Saturday, standing in front of a home on East Kansas.
When officers approached the juvenile, he tried to flee on foot before being detained.
During a search, police found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, later determined to be stolen.
The juvenile was interviewed at the Peoria Police Department and arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Handgun under the age of 21, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, No FOID, Resisting Arrest and a Peoria County warrant.
The juvenile is being held at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
