SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — 1,680 people between Monday and Tuesday received positive COVID-19 tests, while 29 people died.
State labs took in 40,859 specimens during the 24-hour reporting period.
The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate ticked a little downwards, to 4.1%.
1,549 people as of Monday night were in Illinois hospitals with the virus. 345 of them were in intensive care, while 135 were on ventilators.
