PEKIN, Ill. – One item in the civil lawsuits against Reditus Labs and CEO Aaron Rossi is partially resolved, while one is not.
A Tazewell County judge Thursday approved putting Pekin-based Reditus in receivership, appointing a Chicago-based firm to oversee the company’s operations — at least while the suits continue to play out.
Rossi — also facing federal tax fraud charges — is being sued in part because a former business partner alleges he was shut out of dealings once the company started receiving $220 million in state money to conduct COVID-19 testing.
Which leads to the unresolved matter — a motion filed on behalf of WMBD and other media outlets to unseal documents in the suits, in the interest of accurate reporting.
That could now be resolved in the coming weeks, now that the nearly 20 attorneys representing both sides in the civil suits will file their oppositions to attorney Don Craven taking that on. Craven will also have the chance to respond.
