SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — 1,773 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were announced Monday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). In addition, 12 deaths were announced.
The total number of confirmed cases in the state now stands at 207,854 after the new cases announced. There have been a total of 7,756 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.
In the last 24 hours, 38,246 specimens were reported by laboratories bringing the total to 3,405,097.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate from August 10 – August 16 remains around the 4% levels at 4.2%.
As of Sunday night, 1,544 people in Illinois were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 340, or 22%, are in the ICU with 126 on ventilators.
