SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The statewide positivity rate for COVID-19 stagnated at 4.1%, but Monday brought a second straight day of cases under 2,000, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
IDPH said 1,319 people between Sunday and Monday received positive tests.
One person, a Cumberland County woman in her 90s, died during that time from the virus.
32,353 specimens were taken at labs across the state during the 24-hour reporting period. The state has been averaging numbers above 40,000.
1,481 people throughout the state were in hospitals with COVID or COVID-like symptoms. 352 patients were in intensive care, while 138 were on ventilators.
