SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — After consecutive days of 2,000+ coronavirus cases throughout the state, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Sunday that trend was broken, with 1,382 cases.
Eight people between Saturday and Sunday passed away from the virus.
41,354 people were tested during that reporting period. The state’s rolling seven-day positivity rate took an incremental step backwards, to 4.1%.
1,488 hospital beds throughout the state were being occupied as of Saturday night with virus patients. 322 of them were intensive care-level, while 114 were using ventilators.
