PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Public Schools gave parents an opportunity Tuesday night to ask questions and to comment on the school district’s return to school plan.
Questions were sent in ahead of the virtual town hall meeting.
A question many parents brought up, what happens if a PPS student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19?
Superintendent Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat said the district will immediately notify health officials if someone does test positive, and will work with the health department on a course of action.
Another concern, will there be options for childcare on remote learning days for parents who have to work? About a month out from the start of the school year, there is no set plan.
PPS is holding another virtual town hall for parents Wednesday night and one for teachers and staff members Thursday night.
