PEORIA, Ill. — After a decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations over the weekend brought the Peoria region’s rolling 28-day hospitalization rate down, the Tuesday report showed a slight increase from Monday.
The all-important metric sat Tuesday at 19%, up four percent from Monday.
11 people were in area intensive care unit beds because of COVID. Eight were patients with confirmed cases, while three were suspected cases.
20 non-ICU beds were occupied by patients with the virus or symptoms thereof.
Of Peoria County’s 851 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, 569 have recovered.
234 were recovering at home, while 18 were hospitalized.
168 of 230 Tazewell County patients have recovered, while 53 were at home in isolation, and four were in area hospitals.
Woodford County doesn’t provide broken down numbers, but it had no new cases from Monday to Tuesday, sitting at 66.
68% of tri-county cases have recovered, 26% were in home isolation, and two percent were hospitalized.
