PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded around 12:20 a.m. Thursday to a home in the 2100 block of W. North Circle Court on reports of a residential fire.
Residents of the home were awakened by a smoke detector and got out of the home safely before crews arrived on the scene.
Fire Battalion Chief Steve Rada said moderate smoke was found in a second-floor bedroom and part of the first-floor ceiling had to be removed to expose hidden fire.
“We had to pull an attack line off of an engine company to go to the second floor, to extinguish an electrical fire that was actually in the new wall/attic area of the house,” Rada said.
No injuries were reported.
