DUNLAP, Ill. — Dunlap High School was forced to shut down its summer football conditioning practices over the weekend after a player tested positive for the coronavirus.
District Superintendent Scott Dearman said the school is working with health officials for guidance on how to protect players and team staff.
Dunlap players and their parents were notified over the weekend that someone on the team had tested positive for COVID-19, and that Monday’s workouts were canceled.
A new directive announced Thursday from the IHSA halted football practices with contact, 7-on-7 scrimmages and requires masks be worn by all athletes when practicing or training indoors.
