PORT HURON, Mich. – The Illinois Central College women’s basketball team, after losing its first game of the tournament, is now back to its winning ways.
The #4 Cougars Thursday defeated 12th-seeded Edison State, 82-73. ICC now moves on to the 7th place semifinal game Friday against #9 Niagra County, with a tipoff slated for 12 p.m. Central Time.
Dayja Evans of the Cougars hit seven three-point shots en route to a 22-point day, tying her career high.
The Cougars, according to broadcaster Alex Staab, out-rebounded Edison State 47-32. Edison State went into the game with a +25 rebounding average.
