PEORIA, Ill. — In keeping with the trend the state of Illinois is seeing with a resurgence in COVID-19 cases, the Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county from Wednesday to Thursday saw a jump of 35, from 772 to 807.
Peoria County accounted for 27 of those cases, giving it a total of 606.
447, or roughly 74%, of those cases have recovered. 123 were in home isolation and seven were in area hospitals, down from the eight in hospitals as of Wednesday.
Tazewell checked in with 158 cases, up three from Wednesday.
119 of those cases were considered to be recovered, and only one remained in an area hospital.
Woodford’s count increased by five, for a total of 43.
Three people remained in area intensive care unit beds, an unchanged number from Wednesday. Two possible cases were in area ICUS.
15 people were in non-ICU hospital beds. Wednesday’s number was eight.
The death count remained at 39.
The area’s recovery rate dropped to 74.2%.
