SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — After three consecutive days of increases in positive COVID-19 tests across Illinois over 24-hour periods, that trend on Friday was bucked, however slightly.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 857 new cases, a minor decrease from Thursday’s 894.
There were 39 new deaths in that 24-hour period.
There have been 140,291 cases and 6,847 COVID-related deaths since testing started.
For the second straight day, over 30,000 tests were taken over a 24-hour period, with 30,425.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate remained at 3%.
