PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police arrested fugitives from other states including a murder suspect from Missouri this week.
PPD is announcing the results of its most recent anti-violence enforcement effort.
On Tuesday, police arrested several suspects, including that murder suspect out of Missouri — reportedly a juvenile — plus an alleged drug dealer out of Tennessee and two locals who got caught carrying guns illegally.
One of the locals is identified as 24-year-old Datreon Linwood.
The other is a juvenile.
In total on Tuesday, Peoria Police and partner agencies made half a dozen arrests, seized 2 illegal guns and several stolen or abandoned vehicles.
Police Chief Eric Echavarria warned violent criminals that these direct patrols, “will not stop.”
He added, “we will continue to remove you and illegal guns off our streets.”

I-74 Eastbound: At approximately 11:15 a.m., Members of The Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID), with the assistance of Illinois State Police, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was involved in the illegal sale of drugs.
The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Corey M. Williams, was wanted for multiple felony warrants out of Tennessee. Williams had warrants for four counts of Aggravated Assault with a weapon and a Federal Warrant for distribution of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm. Williams was found to have been using several different aliases and false identifications while on the run for almost two years.
He was transported to PCJ awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
McBean/Macarthur: At approximately 1:02 p.m., Members of PPD’s Special Investigations Division (SID) conducted a traffic stop at the above address for a violation. During the course of the investigation, a loaded defaced handgun was located on the juvenile subject.
The subject attempted to flee but was detained and transported to the Peoria Police Department and interviewed by members of PPD’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The subject was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun under the age of 21, Defaced Firearm and Resisting Arrest.
The subject also had an active warrant for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and was transported to JDC.
700 Blk of W. Hurlburt: At approximately 7:43 p.m., Detail Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run incident. 24-year-old Datreon L. Linwood was identified as the driver.
While officers were searching Linwood, they located a loaded stolen firearm with an extended magazine on his person. He was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Street Gang Member and No FOID.
Linwood was transported to PCJ.
N. Finnell/W. Hudson: At approximately, 8:17 p.m., Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigation’s Division (SID), Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and\ Special Response Team (SRT) conducted surveillance in the area of N. Finnell/W. Hudson.
Officers had received information concerning a wanted murder suspect out of Missouri possibly inside a residence in this area. Officers observed the juvenile subject going into a residence in this area. Officers made contact with individuals inside this residence and ordered the subject to
come out. The juvenile suspect eventually complied with officers’ orders and was placed into custody.
The juvenile was transported to JDC to await extradition to Missouri.
