SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — An increase of COVID-19 cases were reported for Illinois on Wednesday, with 715.
The 700 plus new cases brings the state’s total to over 138,000 confirmed cases throughout the course of the pandemic.
An increase in deaths was also announced, 64. The number of deaths in Illinois related to the virus still remains under 7,000.
101 out of 102 counties in the state have reported positive cases.
In the last 24 hours, 29,331 specimens were collected for labs across the state. Illinois has gathered 1,428,841 specimens in total during the pandemic.
