PEORIA, Ill. — This fall, Peoria Public Schools students will be learning both remotely from home and in an in-school setting.
On a 5-2 vote Monday night, the PPS School Board approved a blended learning plan that divides students into two groups. Each of the groups will attend class in the school building two days a week and learn remotely two days a week.
PPS Superintendent Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat said committees worked very hard on the plan the past few months.
“I think it’s well vetted and a solid plan. We’ll see what happens,” Kherat told WMBD’s Greg and Dan Show.
Group “A” will attend school in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays and Group “B” will attend school in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Fridays will be a virtual learning day for all PPS students.
PPS families can also opt for all-remote learning from home if they choose as the school year begins on August 19.
“We’re trying to work everything out. I think we’ll have our hands full in the fall,” Kherat said.
