PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called around 3:20 a.m. Monday to the 2000 block of W. Millman Street on reports of a fire.
Upon arrival, crews found dark smoke coming from the front of the home.
Fire Battalion Chief Rick Morgan said a clothes dryer caught fire on the main level of the home in a bathroom.
The home suffered major smoke damage.
A fire investigator concluded the cause of the fire appeared to be equipment failure.
No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross was called in to assist with temporary housing for 8 children and 4 adults.
