SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health on Sunday reported the lowest statewide COVID-19 death toll in a 24-hour period in over two months.
The IDPH said 19 people across four counties passed away from the disease between Saturday and Sunday.
This is the lowest number since the period between April 1 and April 2.
In total, there were 672 new cases.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 132,543 cases and 6,308 deaths.
Labs across the state reported taking in 22,040 specimens between Saturday and Sunday.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate remained at 3%.
