PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded just after 11 a.m. Tuesday to a fire call in the 1500 block of W. Martin Street.
Crews found the front of a home fully engulfed in flames. No one was inside. The fire spread to a neighboring home.
Fire Battalion Chief Clint Kuhlman said damage to the home where the fire originated sustained substantial damage. The second home had damage to the roof, siding and windows.
One Peoria firefighter was injured fighting the fire. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
A Peoria Fire Investigator determined the cause of the fire was arson.
