PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. — Shots were fired at a vehicle Thursday night on eastbound I-74.
Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said the incident was a result of road rage.
“Sheriff’s Deputies responded Thursday evening around 9:00 to I-74 eastbound, about two miles east of the Kickapoo exit, on the report of a road rage that led to gunfire,” Asbell said.
Asbell said the complainant’s vehicle was actually struck by gunfire. The incident was turned over to Illinois State Police for investigation.
There are reports a male driver was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A woman and an infant inside the vehicle were reportedly uninjured.
