PEORIA, Ill. — Tri-county COVID-19 cases went up Wednesday by four, to 221.
Three of those new cases were reported in Peoria, giving the county 148, while Tazewell had one new case, making its total 58. Woodford remained at 15.
70% of total cases since the pandemic began were considered to be recovered. 21% were in home isolation, while 4% were hospitalized.
Nine out of 10 area ICU beds being used for COVID-19 cases were for confirmed cases, while the other case was a suspected case.
No new deaths were reported.
In its first day of testing, the Heartland Health Services testing site at the Tazewood Center in Pekin used 202 tests as of 3 P.M.
Peoria City/County Health Administrator Monica Hendrickson commented on the importance of more testing sites.
“In the Restore Illinois plan, the governor really does address the fact as we move to phases, one of the things we’re going to be focusing on is testing capacity and those community-based testing sites,” she said.
The East Bluff testing site on Wednesday tested 198 people.
