CHILLICOTHE, Ill. – Police officers in Chillicothe have a new contract.
Our news partner 25 News reports both the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 247 and the City Council there have signed off on the new three-year pact.
The deal involves pay raises, a larger clothing allowance, and $400 bonuses every time an officer passes a fitness exam, which is taken up to three times a year.
The Police Chief there says negotiations were not necessary. The union submitted a proposal, the city counter-proposed, and that deal was accepted.
